Flat Tail Shop is a two-person operation run by partners Spike and Kate. We're makers first, chasing whatever's got our attention. Stained glass, woodworking, screen printing, and a whole lot in between. Everything we make is designed and made by us in Austin, TX.

Everything we make starts with something we genuinely love. Stained glass has been at the heart of Flat Tail Shop from the beginning. The color, the light, the way a finished piece transforms a window or a wall. It's the kind of craft that never stops inspiring us.
When we couldn't find a lightbox that felt right for our own shop, we made one. And now, we get to share them with others.
That's how most things happen around here. We make what we wish existed, and then we make it available for you.

Spike & Kate
Spike and Kate met in 2019 working together as both designers and animators. Flat Tail Shop launched in 2026 as a culmination of years of collaborative creative exploration. The name is a nod to the busy beaver, and a tribute to the dozens of tails they chased on the way to building what you see here.
